Work Experience (Health and Safety)Posted: November 24, 2015
Much like being in University there are Health and Safety procedures that are in place to ensure the safety of yourself, the company and the workers and freelancers working within the company.
- Masks must be worn when exposed to excessive amounts of dust particles regardless of how closed or open the environment is especially if this is the environment you are working in for a long period of time.
- When aerosol products such as spray paint are used masks must be worn and gloves used which is also the case when chemicals are used due to the nature of many materials and chemicals causing lots of irritation or damage to your skin and health.
- You must be aware of your surroundings especially when heavy and large quantities of materials are in transit from one area of the workshops to another.
- Any accidents, spillages or damages have to be reported due to the legality procedures of the company.
There are many rules and regulations that need to be followed whilst on placement to ensure you get the best experience and don’t endanger yourself or others in the process. Overall i’m looking forward to my placement and hopefully i will be able to branch out into other areas and make my name known as well as contacts in the process, which will be of great value in a competitive market that is prop making.
